Experimental and numerical evaluation of thermodynamic effect on NACA0015 hydrofoil cavitation in hot water

In this study, the cavitation in hot water, which implies tight interaction of thermodynamic effect, phase change phenomena, and flow behavior, was studied by a combination experiment numerical simulation. The water up to 90°C performed high temperature high-pressure tunnel with NACA0015 as cavitator. inside cavity measured using high-accuracy thermistor probe. According result, depression increased proportionally increase freestream temperature. inverse effect observed length when increased. maximum about 0.41°C at around 90°C. drop reasonably captured simulation coupling our simplified model governing equations. tendency agreed well experimental data under different conditions.
